After Sen. McCain suspended his campaign to deal with the financial crisis, he abruptly cancelled his appearence on David Letterman telling the comedian that he would be flying right back to Washington. That night, on his show, Letterman caught McCain getting his make-up done in an unflattering light. Among other things, Letterman said, "This just doesn't smell right. Someone must have put something in his Metamucel." McCain came back on the show yesterday to apologize.
