There are about 300 Barnard students in the "VIP" section of CNN Times Square Party Politics and a few NYU students to boot. Seating is scarce. CNNers are carrying packs of hot chocolate on their backs and pouring cups to chilly students (pictured right), but under the bright lights and with the number of bodies, it really isn't that chilly.
One NYU student held up a McCain/Palin 08 bumper sticker, but otherwise, the crowd is staunchly probama, cheering whenever CNN declares an electoral point for the Democrat.

this sound
awesome and very glamorous.

why, yes, why else would they serve us hot cocoa on demand and feed us New York pretzels ensconced in mustard? The seats were kind of even glowing red! (Of course, they were mightily uncomfortable. Remembering moments from this year's Service Day on 9/11 on Low Steps.)
